Best Postpartum Pads

With just a few gentle pushes, Olivia came out, so I didn’t tear it, but I was still a little sore. I mean, when pushing a big head out of a tiny crack, that’s predicted. The combination of these postpartum pads’ herbs and coolness really, really felt amazing. For relaxation, the best postpartum pads are very absorbent and have a cooling effect.
For an amazing calming and relaxing effect for the sore postpartum perineum and ass, these homemade postpartum pads combine the following:

Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera is well known for it’s antiseptic , germicide, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and regenerative properties, making it a great addition to postpartum healing.
Comfrey Herb
Comfrey is a wonderful herb which promotes healing while disinfecting and relieving pain.
Lavender Essential
Oil Lavender is soothing and smells wonderful.

Homemade Postpartum Pads

What You’ll Need

  • 20 overnight maxi pads
  • 1 cup witch hazel
  • 1 cup 100% aloe vera gel
  • 20 drops lavender essential oil
  • 2 oz. comfrey leaves
  • 4 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Boil 4 cups water to make comfrey tea.
  2. Pour water over comfrey in large bowl, cover and let steep 8 hours.
  3. Strain comfrey and reserve the tea.
  4. Mix the tea, witch hazel, aloe vera gel, and lavender in a medium bowl.
  5. Unwrap each pad, but leave it in it’s wrapper.
  6. Pour 2-4 tablespoons over each pad, concentrating on where your sore perineum will be.
  7. Fold pad up and re-wrap.
  8. Wrap in aluminum foil and place in a gallon zip bag in the freezer.

Tip: Before placing the frozen pad on, unwrap and let thaw for 5 minutes.

How great these pads were, I can’t tell you. The dry, scratchy and non-cold pads supplied by the hospital are so much more relaxing.

I made about 20 of them, and carried 7-10 in a freezer tote bag to the hospital. And that is what I’ve been using. Since I didn’t tear, the time I came home after 24 hours, I felt fine and didn’t need to use them anymore.

Only try them on your own, or make a couple for your mom-to-be.

Only let me know what you’re thinking!

  2. I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to Dimepiece Los Angeles celebrity streetwear brand? I am unable to proceed to the checkout on Dimepiecela site. I have read in Vanity Fair that the brand was acquired by a UK hedge fund for $50 million. I have just bought the Dimepiece 90’s Sport Utility Duffle from Ebay and absolutely love it xox
